Tempe Club Summer 7s Program
For many high school-, university-, and men’s-level rugby players who find themselves residing in the Phoenix metropolitan area during the Summer, rugby ends at the conclusion of the regular 15s season. However, many of these same players are interested in, and would benefit from, playing sevens through the summer to maintain their fitness and continue developing their skills before they return to their own clubs in the Fall. As such, the Tempe Rugby Club would like to invite you to participate in the annual Tempe Summer Sevens Program (TSSP). For interested participants, and under the leadership of the Tempe RFC Administrative Board and Coaching Staff, the TSSP offers organization/structure on- and off- the-pitch, as well as a social element.
The TSSP offers two options.
Option #1 – Serious participants will learn from some of country’s top coaches, compete with some of the best rugby players from around the nation, and have a chance to make a team to compete in the schedule below, which culminates in a run for a National Championship.
Option #2 - However, if you’re not interested in training to make one of the competitive sides who will compete each weekend, there is another option. For those players who are just looking for an opportunity to get a run in, have a little fun, and enjoy a cold beverage afterward there is ‘Old Guy Touch’ (OGT) as well.
