Selection Policy & Criteria ~
A three member Selection Committee determines the player rosters (A-side, B-side, and C-side) for each and every Tempe RFC sanction match played each year. The Selection Committee is determined by a membership vote at the bi-Annual General Meeting (AGM). Per the Tempe RFC Constitution, the composition of the Selection Committee will comprise of the club’s Head Coach, two elected players, and one additional elected player to serve as an alternate Selection Committee member.
The Selection Committee generally considers the following criteria in making their selection decisions (No particular order).
- Attendance – includes attendance to practices, games, and other club sanctioned events.
- Effort – includes the amount of effort put forth while participating in practices, games, and other club sanctioned events.
- Performance - includes individual players’ past and on-going performance while participating in practices, games, and other club sanctioned events.
- Experience – This criterion includes a player’s individual skills, knowledge, ability, etc. in determining rosters for each A, B, and C-sides.
- Compliance – includes being current in regard to an individual player’s membership dues and CIPP registration. Please note that players who do not possess a current CIPP status will not be selected to play under any circumstances.
